CAD Design Specialist

The CAD Technician will be an integral part of a high-performing team across both Glasgow and Livingston offices, providing high-quality and efficient, multi-disciplinary CAD design services to WGM's various clients and internal business functions.
Key Duties- Prepare suitable CAD drawings and designs to support the work of the Projects and Operational functions of the business, as well as providing technical input into projects as required.
- Apply knowledge and experience of working in a CAD/design environment to ensure processes and procedures are adhered to from the outset and CAD standards are maintained throughout the design phase, in line with WGM's Quality Standards and QMS.
- Provide technical support to the various business functions, which may involve site survey work as required to allow a design to be developed or to resolve a design issue.
- Be competent with 2D/3D design packages as appropriate and applicable to the particular project and/or client design output, i.e. AutoCAD, REVIT, CIVIL 3D, Navisworks.
- Have an understanding of BIM and working within a common data environment, i.e. Projectwise.
To be considered for this position, you will have at least 2-3 years' previous experience within CAD or design function, with previous experience ideally within an engineering or construction environment being beneficial. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of CAD and commercial awareness of your specialist area of engineering. Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, contractors, and others involved in the design process are essential for the role.
