Job Title: Highly Specialised Occupational Therapist

Northampton General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke Team as a Highly Specialised Occupational Therapist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative team, providing high-quality care to patients with stroke and other neurological conditions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing highly specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients with stroke and other neurological conditions. This will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans, promoting independence and maximising functional ability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients with stroke and other neurological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, promoting independence and maximising functional ability.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of stroke services, including service improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy (BSc Honours or equivalent).
  • Health Professions Council (HPC) registration.
  • Experience of working in a stroke service, with a strong understanding of stroke care and rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care.
