Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Environmental Campaign Strategist to join our team at Greenpeace UK. As a key member of our Politics Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing our political strategies to drive change in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective political strategies to support our campaigns and drive policy change in the UK.
  • Work closely with our campaign teams, network of supporters, and volunteers to help them campaign for action to protect our climate, oceans, and forests.
  • Advise and support our campaigners in the development and implementation of political strategies and lobbying for their projects.
  • Help to develop policy positions in key campaign areas and advocate for agreed policies to political audiences and in the media.
  • Conduct research, gather intelligence, and build relationships with key stakeholders to inform our political tactics and maximise their impact.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge and interest in UK politics, including experience of working with Parliamentary processes.
  • Experience of political lobbying at a national or international level, including the ability to establish and maintain effective contacts and relationships with senior and influential external individuals and bodies.
  • Ability to work constructively and effectively with other team members, including campaigners, communications teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of people, both verbally and in writing, including the media, volunteers, and other NGO representatives.
