Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Lead Specialist Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical expert to lead and develop our Adult ADHD Service, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with ADHD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake comprehensive ADHD diagnostic assessments for individuals referred to the Adult ADHD Service.
  • To practice as a supplementary or independent non-medical prescriber, initiating and reviewing medication as appropriate.
  • To review the response to prescribed medication with service users, in accordance with the local Adult ADHD Shared Care Agreement.
  • To provide expert clinical guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services.
  • To participate in clinical supervision and contribute to the development of best practice in the field of ADHD.
  • To stay up-to-date with recent research findings and apply this knowledge to the advancement of our service.
  • To ensure the effective management and care of individuals with ADHD, adhering to current quality initiatives and standards.
  • To utilise business and management principles to promote quality developments and efficient use of resources.
  • To promote evidence-based approaches to practice management and service delivery.
  • To maintain a high level of clinical governance, monitoring and evaluating standards of care, and raising concerns with the Service Manager as necessary.

Requirements:

  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
  • Experience of contributing to and developing policies.
  • Further training in HR, team management, and finance management.
  • Ability to represent the nursing function within the adult management structure.
  • Knowledge of care management and the care programme approach.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key issues in clinical practice in mental health, ADHD, and Autism.
