We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Operations Manager to join our team at GSS Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a key leadership role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects across various locations in the UK.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering site management, with a minimum of 5-10 years' experience in managing teams in fast-paced environments. They will be responsible for overseeing site operations, supervising sub-contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, quality control procedures, and information security protocols.

This role offers a competitive salary of £30,000 per year, plus additional benefits such as a pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, and employee discount. The successful candidate will also receive comprehensive training in areas like HSE, data protection, and GDPR.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and coordinate general workforce involved in projects
  • Liaise with local authorities to ensure compliance with construction regulations and by-laws
  • Liaise with clients and their representatives, including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress
  • Efficiently procure plant, materials, and manpower to enable project progression according to program
  • Ensure accurate completion of site documentation and client paperwork, including checking and preparing site reports
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols, and having emergency plans in place
  • Ensure timely record and reporting of accidents and near misses, submitting to SHEQ Manager in a timely fashion
  • Assess and minimize risk, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
  • Prepare and carry out risk assessments and method statements, maintaining quality control procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a similar role
  • All relevant H&S accreditation and certification (Safety Passport, SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safety)
  • Full Driver's Licence
  • Experience in managing teams in a fast-paced and process-driven environment
  • IT proficiency - MS Office
  • Appropriate authorizations needed for different clients (SPEN/NG)
