Join Our Team as a Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Cloud & Datacentre team, you will play a crucial role in helping our organization understand and control costs in the Cloud.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize cloud native and third-party cost management toolsets to drive commercial and cost avoidance optimisations across our Cloud estate based on Azure.
  • Provide expert knowledge on cloud cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing, reserved instances/savings plans, scheduling, and processor/instance types.
  • Build, maintain, and improve custom reports and dashboards to deliver weekly/monthly cost reporting based on Power BI platform.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and Cloud Platform teams to implement cost optimization recommendations and best practices.
  • Define and implement a new FinOps governance framework and roadmap of FinOps activity to maximise and optimise our Cloud spend.
Your Ideal Profile
  • Strong experience of Cloud cost optimisation and the Cloud FinOps sector.
  • A strong understanding of Azure compute technologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Public Cloud pricing schemes.
  • Moderate FinOps meetings with DevOps engineers, documenting collaborative agreed approach and setting the objectives for the evolving dashboard reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and executing commitment-based savings plans for Azure, Cloud cost management tooling, and building dashboards.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear, effective written and oral communication.
  • Cultural awareness and willingness to travel (largely between UK and Germany).
