About the Role:

JMS Midlands is a part of the JMS Group of companies that employ 45+ staff undertaking civil & structural engineering designs and has been serving the Construction Industry for over 25 years.

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at our Nuneaton office to undertake designs on a variety of projects, from small domestic extensions to large, multi-storey apartment and office developments.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading an Engineering cost centre(s) for our Midland Region, using the latest design software to create and manage structural designs, and liaising with key clients and discussing design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.

You will also be responsible for ensuring projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.

Additionally, you will provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression, and prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
