Job Title: Forensic Psychology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychology Specialist to join our team at HMP Dovegate, a category B prison. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Psychological Services to men, ensuring the safety and well-being of both staff and prisoners.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Forensic Psychologist with experience in working with convicted offenders and completing assessments with a forensic population. As a specialist in this field, you will contribute to the development of Psychological Services through assessments and interventions, providing specialist consultancy and training to prison staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake psychological assessments to inform risk management decisions and ensure the safety of the establishment.
  • Complete risk assessments for parole using appropriate tools and contribute to the development of effective interventions.
  • Lead or contribute to research and multi-disciplinary initiatives, driving innovation and improvement in Psychological Services.
  • Provide specialist consultancy and training to prison staff, enhancing their knowledge and skills in forensic psychology.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with convicted offenders and completing assessments with a forensic population.
  • HCPC registration (or within six months of obtaining it).
  • Stage 2 Diploma in Forensic Psychology with the BPS or Stage 1 with majority of Stage 2 completed.
