Job Title: Senior Site Manager

Business Unit: Construction (South)

Office Location: Bristol

Site Location: Dorset region

Role Purpose

To manage a site or section, overseeing day-to-day activities of the site team to achieve successful completion in line with Company and Customer expectations. Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and other third parties in the best interests of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all site activities and monitor progress against the programme, taking remedial action where necessary while protecting the Company's contractual position.
  2. Ensure effective close-out of projects and initiate snagging as specified by the customer from initial site set-up to completion.
  3. Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure high standards are achieved and address any issues with sub-contractors and trades.
  4. Keep up-to-date and complete site records in line with Company and legislative requirements.
  5. Identify potential issues affecting successful project delivery and take necessary action to remedy the situation or escalate as appropriate.
  6. Safeguard the Company's contractual position, ensuring contract terms are understood and adhered to.
  7. Work closely with the Commercial team to monitor the financial status of the project, identify solutions to problems, and organise activity to deliver these.
  8. Safeguard the Company's financial position and report variations to the commercial team.
  9. Manage prelim costs within budget.
  10. Manage the performance of direct reports and sub-contract labour, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
  11. Manage the communication of all necessary information.
  12. Fulfil responsibilities within the Project Management System.
  13. Ensure our HSQE standards, operating processes, company policies, and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented, and adhered to at all times.
  14. Take corrective action on any breach of policy to ensure a safe site, free of accidents and incidents, at all times.
  15. Responsible for the safety of the public when working in a live environment.
  16. Coordinate the activities of different sub-contractors to ensure work is carried out efficiently and oversee performance to ensure work is completed on schedule and to the right standard.

Qualifications

  1. Must be fully qualified with the 7-point site passport.
  2. HND/HNC in building studies preferred.
  3. CSCS card required.
  4. Full driving license.
