We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Research Director to provide strategic leadership and direction for Research and Innovation at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Provide oversight of the performance of Research and Innovation, ensuring the delivery of stretching targets and financial sustainability.
- Research Strategy Development: Work closely with the Clinical Director(s) of Research and Innovation and the Senior Management Team to develop and deliver the research strategy and operational objectives.
- Leadership and Ambassadors: Act as an ambassador for health and care research, representing the Trust at regional and national forums, and promoting a culture of staff development, collaboration, and inclusion.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work in close partnership with corporate teams to ensure Research and Innovation's compliance with regulations, policies, and standards.
- Communication and Partnerships: Communicate the Trust's research vision and plans to internal staff and external agencies, and work with academic and commercial partners to increase academic delivery across the Trust.
- Professional Qualifications: Professional knowledge acquired through degree, supplemented by specialist training to masters or equivalent level, management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Research Experience: Significant experience of clinical trials management and related methodology, with a detailed understanding of the research funding environment in the UK.
- Leadership Qualifications: Formal qualification in leadership, preferably relevant to clinical research.
