Job Purpose:

Pilgrim's Shared Services Ltd aims to provide expert reporting services to its Business Units, leading to the creation of the GL Assistant Accountant role. This position reports to the Senior Accountant within the Fixed Assets and Leasing team, focusing on providing accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver financial reporting across Pilgrim's Europe group, working closely with the Financial Reporting Fixed Assets Lead and site accountants.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly VAT, Intrastat, and overhead accounts, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to established group timetables.
  • Operating within the Tax & RTR stream, the GL Assistant Accountant will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to support the financial performance of the business unit and subsequent reporting.
  • This role requires a flexible and adept individual who can problem-solve and ensure all relevant SOX controls are completed in the area, supporting external and internal audit requirements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Part-qualified accountant or at least 2 years' experience of accounts preparation.
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge and ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues.
  • A team player who can work collaboratively across business units, with strong interpersonal and planning skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
