Job Title: Highway Maintenance Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading consultancy in Nottinghamshire as a Highway Maintenance Engineer. The role involves delivering highway engineering projects and providing specialist engineering services that enhance and maintain the road network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage the delivery of highway-related construction and maintenance projects that meet quality, programme, and financial targets.
  • Provide specialist design, technical, and cost advice to internal and external clients to support the delivery of complex and large-scale projects.
  • Manage the evaluation and authorisation of externally designed engineering schemes to ensure the highway asset meets regional and design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Construction and Commercial Division to manage workflow and support the achievement of company business plan objectives for productivity and profit.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety management systems, processes, and requirements to ensure full adherence to health, safety, and environmental legislation, policy, and best practice.
  • Manage consultation, communication, and liaison with clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and maintain a positive company reputation.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject and post-qualification relevant experience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering design environment.
  • Strong ICT skills, including competence in specialist computer applications used to support engineering design activities.
  • Working knowledge of current highway and civil engineering design standards, contracts, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, technical, traffic management, and other legislation and good practice appropriate to highway and civil engineering construction and maintenance activities.
  • Experience in providing information, communicating, and working collaboratively with internal and external customers, stakeholders, and colleagues to achieve delivery objectives.
  • Experience in all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on site.
  • Full UK driving license.
