About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Highway Electrical Technician to join our Electrical Team at Via East Midlands Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Electrical Chargehand/Supervisor in the installation and maintenance of street lighting, traffic signals, and other electrical installations.
  • Carry out work efficiently, effectively, and safely to keep costs within budget and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with NHSS8, Health & Safety, and Environmental accreditations.
  • Process and submit accurate paperwork and electronic data for final approval.
  • Provide mentoring and on-the-job training to apprentices, work placements, and students.
  • Operate vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds 236/2360 or equivalent (NVQ 3 Diploma in servicing and commissioning in highway electrical systems).
  • Full current driving license.
  • Industry-recognised qualifications, including New Roads and Street Works Act.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of plant, transport, materials, and operations associated with highway electrical installation and maintenance activities.
  • Experience in applying health and safety legislation.
  • Able to manage workload and use own initiative in relation to problems and changing circumstances.
