About the Role:

RPS Group is seeking an experienced Principal Civil or Highway Engineer to join our progressive business and serve our clients. This role will be within the infrastructure team, which could include Aviation or Highway-based projects.

About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to progress their career as a Principal Civil/Highway Engineer within our industry-leading team. As a Discipline Lead, you will be responsible for the production of 3D models using Civil 3D modeling software, producing drawings from the 3D model, and coordinating the production of detailed drawing and specification output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discipline lead for the production of 3D models using Civil 3D modeling software
  • Production of drawings from the 3D model
  • Coordination of the production of detailed drawing and specification output
  • Project and drawing/model reviews to ensure technical requirements are achieved
  • Review of design calculations and basis of design assumptions
  • Technical and design point of reference for the team
  • Technical specification and accurate report writing
  • High-quality design output, working efficiently, and overseeing the quality of technical/design output of junior colleagues
  • Review and comment upon consultants' and contractors' design proposals
  • Ensuring team compliance with BIM protocols and office drawing standards
  • Supporting the Director with preparation of tender/bid documents, scope of service, and fee proposal activity
  • Attending and contributing to project and client meetings and site inspections

Requirements:

  • Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant professional body or a relevant degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • Proficient in creating Civil 3D models and extracting sections and quantities from the model
  • Experience within the Aviation and/or the Highways sector and knowledge of industry design guides
  • Experience in the application of relevant design software
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Experience in line management and project management
