About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Kent & Medway All-Age Eating Disorders Service (AAEDS) as a Trainee Psychological Therapist, specializing in Eating Disorders. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a 2-year postgraduate diploma program in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED) at UCL, under supervision.
  • Work in the AAEDS, utilizing your newly developed skills to provide interventions for adults with Eating Disorders.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registerable professional qualification in a relevant subject (psychology, social work, counselling, nursing, occupational therapy, etc.) from a UK university or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a CAMHS or equivalent setting (applications may be considered from those without a registerable professional training).
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to safeguarding children and young people.
  • Experience of working with safeguarding issues, multi-agency working, and liaising across internal and external agencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
