Company Overview

Kent County Council's Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Childrens Service is a critical unit that ensures the safe and timely transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the care of Kent County Council to other local authorities under the National Transfer Scheme (NTS).

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Unit, taking a proactive role in its day-to-day functioning.

About the Role

  • Assist the business support in the centre/home to ensure the effective management of the Unit's operations.
  • Deal with highly sensitive and confidential information while working under pressure in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Utilize excellent IT and problem-solving skills to multi-task and maintain a good eye for detail.
  • Collaborate with professionals and members of the public on the telephone to resolve queries and provide support.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Possess a good understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
  • Hold a valid Enhanced Disclosure certificate.
