About the Role

The Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Renal Outpatient Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients with chronic kidney disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide education and support to patients with chronic kidney disease on various forms of renal replacement treatment, including haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, transplant, and conservative management.
  • Help organize education days for patients and raise awareness of CKD at relevant events.
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of pre-dialysis patients, input data, and documentation.
  • Assist with research studies and contribute to the development of new services and programs.
  • Support the renal vaccination clinic and provide education to patients on vaccination options.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse or Midwife with a post-basic specialist qualification relevant to the speciality.
  • Extensive clinical experience and involvement in audit.
  • Strong teaching, assessment, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate self and others.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Computer literate and able to work independently and as part of a team.
