The Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Haematology position at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust offers a unique opportunity for a medical professional to gain expertise in paediatric haematology while developing leadership skills and contributing to the care of patients with complex haematological disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day care of paediatric haematology patients, including those undergoing stem cell transplantation and their donors, complex haemoglobinopathy patients, patients with bone marrow failure, shared care oncology patients, and patients with immune cytopenias.
- Participate in the management of all Paediatric Haematology inpatients, day-care review patients, and perform procedures such as bone marrow examination and bone marrow harvests (after training and with supervision).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines in paediatric haematology.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide high-quality patient care.
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, including clinical trials and audits, to advance the field of paediatric haematology.
- Be a licensed medical practitioner on the GMC register.
- Hold MRCPCH or MRCP Part 2 or equivalent.
- Have experience working as a middle-grade in paediatrics or haematology.
- Have a track record of ethical research experience relevant to haematology/stem cell transplantation (desirable).
- Have experience in PICU, HDU, A&E, or paediatric subspeciality experience (desirable).
- Have APLS Provider experience of laboratory haematology reporting (desirable).
- Have evidence of involvement in and understanding of principles of clinical governance.
- Have clinical practice consistent with GMC guidelines on "Good medical practice".
- Have experience of clinical audit, including more than one completed project.
