Job Opportunity: Lead Cost Controller (Project Controls Manager Grade)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cost Controller to join our Infrastructure-Defence team in Bristol and the South West.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of high-profile infrastructure projects and programmes, driving the implementation of cost control processes and leading teams of cost control professionals.

As a Lead Cost Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading teams of cost control professionals on complex projects and programmes
  • Driving the implementation, embedding, and roll-out of cost control processes
  • Selecting, implementing, administering, and maintaining cost control systems and procedures
  • Developing project cost breakdown structures and aligning time phasing of budgets against work breakdown structures
  • Integrating cost estimates into work breakdown structures and setting project budgets
  • Defining how to build and assure project forecasts to account for residual works
  • Presenting performance recovery recommendations to stakeholders and senior management
  • Undertaking line management activities, including career development and performance management
  • Contributing to national and regional risk communities

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Experience in cost control on complex projects and programmes
  • Practical experience of different cost performance reporting and cost forecasting techniques
  • Practical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting, and performance reporting and analysis
  • Practical experience of using MS Excel and other MS applications
  • Experience of interfacing risk with other project controls disciplines
  • An understanding of how other aspects of project controls interact with cost engineering

We are looking for a candidate who is a sole British national passport holder, with current security clearance, or the ability to achieve this.
