About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Model Lead to join our team at OpenBet Limited. As a key member of our Data Science department, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of our pre-match bet-builder pricing models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team in building and maintaining our pricing models.
  • Create model prototypes and communicate these clearly to the team for implementation.
  • Liaise with the wider Core Content teams to integrate the models to production.
  • Establish testing standards for pricing accuracy and technical performance.
  • Ensure that coding principles are being implemented and that modelling processes are well documented.
  • Create yearly roadmaps with various milestones to monitor the progress of the team.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and software developers to move projects from idea to integration.
  • Communicate with clients the key elements that govern the model.
  • Report to the Director of Data Science on workflow and share findings with the Data Science team.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years working experience as a Quant or Data Scientist in the betting industry.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Advanced programming skills: statistical programming (R or Python), object-oriented programming (C# or Java) and SQL.
  • Experience with various modelling techniques (e.g. Probability Distributions, GLMs, Monte Carlo Simulations, Bayesian Inference, Time-Series Analysis etc.).
  • A demonstrable interest in developing forecasting models for sports.
  • Experience with version control platforms (e.g. GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc.).
