About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at University Hospital Lewisham. As a key member of our Frailty Service, you will play a vital role in leading our occupational therapy services and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert leadership and guidance to our occupational therapy team, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care and support. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the occupational therapy team within the Frailty Service, ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care and support.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide expert guidance and supervision to junior staff members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring that our occupational therapy services are aligned with Trust objectives.
  • Participate in research and audit projects, sharing findings and expertise to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant experience in leading and managing occupational therapy teams, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in occupational therapy, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
  • Experience of working autonomously, with minimal supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities, meeting deadlines and targets.
Salary and Benefits

This is a Band 7 post, attracting a salary of £58,794-£70,306 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will also enjoy a range of benefits, including:
