About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team at Safran Helicopter Engines. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining purchase orders, coordinating with internal departments, and providing support to ensure product availability and master data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating and maintaining purchase orders for purchased parts or services and sub-contracting activities in accordance with production requirements
- Coordinating and communicating with internal departments to maintain delivery expectations and manage partner relationships
- Providing support and services to ensure product availability and maintain master data, including source lists, PIR/contract agreements, LOT sizes, lead-times, and on-time delivery
- Providing regular forecasts to suppliers to ensure purchase orders, deliveries, and stocks are aligned with business requirements
- Ensuring products and services meet customer requirements, quality standards, and airworthiness authorities
- Working in accordance with HSE legislation, Company Operating Systems, policies, and procedures
- Continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes and working practices and taking responsibility for implementing these
- Maintaining SAP master data, part number, and vendor master data as MRP controller for designated part numbers and commodities
- Managing the Buy Report to ensure orders are placed on time, within lead-time, and in line with commodity strategies
- Actively managing the MRP exception message report as part of daily activities to ensure delivery requirements are adhered to
- Analyzing supplier on-time delivery and quality performance and working with suppliers and other functions to drive improvement in supplier performance
- Compiling supplier scorecards on a monthly basis and distributing to key suppliers where applicable
- Working with the Quality department and adhering to the supplier approval process when approving new suppliers
- Prioritizing tasks and objectives set by Manager or team-leader on a daily basis as appropriate
- Participating in monthly/quarterly business reviews with the management team
Requirements
- English and Maths GCSEs grade A-C
- Ideal CIPS qualification
- Engineering qualification desirable
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- SAP knowledge and experience (mandatory)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Excellent attention to detail
- Appreciation of heat-treatments, tensile strength, nitriding processes
- Creation of forecasts and communication with the supply chain to ensure short, medium, and long-term requirements are considered
