Maritime Transport is seeking a skilled Container Transport Coordinator to join our team at our Northampton depot. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of containers, ensuring timely delivery and efficient use of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with drivers and ports to coordinate container movements
- Book delivery slots and manage container schedules
- Use TOPS transport system to track driver start and finish times
- Monitor driver ETAs and make adjustments as needed
- Reroute jobs to optimize container movement
- Verify PODs match with system records
- Communicate with customers on delays and provide ETAs
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Transport Operator
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
- Self-motivated and organized with a flexible approach
