Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

The company we are working with is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Preston. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of their manufacturing facility by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition to maintain and enhance performance of all machinery
- Reduce engineering downtime, respond rapidly to machine failures and breakdowns
- Undertake projects and assist with all on-site installations
- Keep open and clear lines of communication with management and fellow colleagues
- Develop and improve planned maintenance schedules
- Prioritize work within the engineering department and deploy resources accordingly
- Identify training needs or 'weak spots' within the department

Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Time-served with a demonstrable background in mechanical maintenance
- Familiar with Siemens PLC's
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and pumps
- Strong communication skills
