We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Maternity Support Worker to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical and non-clinical support to patients and families accessing maternity care.
Key Responsibilities- Work within various settings, including the birth centre, post-natal ward, and community, to provide high-quality care and support to patients and families.
- Support antenatal education and provide evidence-based information on breastfeeding and infant feeding to all families.
- Deliver effective healthcare to patients/service users in a variety of settings, including patients' own homes.
- Undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility, and after completing appropriate competency-based training agreed by the Trust.
- Implement maternity care programs within Antenatal Services.
- Communicate appropriate information to women and their families.
- UK Driving Licence and access to vehicle for work.
- Care Certificate.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in health.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at C or above.
- Previous experience as a support worker.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer literate.
- Effective time management.
