About the Role

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternity Support Worker to join our team. As a Maternity Support Worker, you will provide clinical and non-clinical support to our multi-professional team, working within various settings including the birth centre, post-natal ward, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Support antenatal education and provide BFI feeding information to all families.
  • Deliver effective healthcare to patients/service users in a variety of settings, including patients' own homes.
  • Undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility, and after completing appropriate competency-based training agreed by the Trust.
  • Implement maternity care programs within Antenatal Services.
  • Communicate appropriate information to women and their families.

Requirements

  • UK Driving Licence and access to vehicle for work.
  • Care Certificate.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in health.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at C or above.
  • Previous experience as a support worker.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Effective time management.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated.
  • Kind and Compassionate.
  • Work well in a team.
