Maternity Support Team Member

About the Role
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternity Support Worker to join our team. As a Maternity Support Worker, you will provide clinical and non-clinical support to our multi-professional team, working within various settings including the birth centre, post-natal ward, and community.
Responsibilities
- Support antenatal education and provide BFI feeding information to all families.
- Deliver effective healthcare to patients/service users in a variety of settings, including patients' own homes.
- Undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility, and after completing appropriate competency-based training agreed by the Trust.
- Implement maternity care programs within Antenatal Services.
- Communicate appropriate information to women and their families.
Requirements
- UK Driving Licence and access to vehicle for work.
- Care Certificate.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in health.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at C or above.
- Previous experience as a support worker.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Effective time management.
- Enthusiastic and motivated.
- Kind and Compassionate.
- Work well in a team.
