Job Summary
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Maternity Support Worker to join our team at St Mary's Birth Centre in Melton Mowbray. As a Maternity Support Worker, you will provide clinical and non-clinical support to our multi-professional team, working closely with Registered Health Care Professionals to deliver high-quality care to families in the antenatal, intrapartum, and post-natal periods.
Main Responsibilities
- Work within various settings, including the birth centre, post-natal ward, and community.
- Support antenatal education and provide BFI feeding information to all families.
- Deliver effective healthcare to patients/service users in a variety of settings, including patients' own homes.
- Undertake unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the Registered Health Care Professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility, and after completing appropriate competency-based training agreed by the Trust.
- Implement maternity care programmes within Antenatal Services.
- Communicate appropriate information to women and their families.
Requirements
- UK Driving Licence and access to vehicle for work.
- Care Certificate.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in health.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at C or above.
- Previous experience as a support worker.
