Academic Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Mentor to join our team at Randstad. As a Specialist Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting university and college students with specific learning disabilities or mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them to develop strategies for organisation, time management, and goal setting.
- Assist students in breaking down tasks and achieving deadlines, while maintaining a balance between study and daily life.
- Support students in managing anxiety, stress, or low mood, and help them prepare for new experiences.
- Work collaboratively with students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop tailored support plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, adhering to Randstad's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Membership with a relevant professional body, such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Experience of working with clients with disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
- Punctuality and reliability, with the ability to manage a caseload of students.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
