We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Whittington Health NHS Trust. As an EMHP, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in our schools.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative team, delivering preventative and early intervention mental health work to all the borough's mainstream schools. You will work closely with school staff, families, and other agencies to provide a range of interventions, including workshops, assemblies, groups, and individual therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver group and individual therapeutic interventions with children, young people, and their families
  • Work with school staff to increase mental health awareness and develop whole-school approaches to mental health
  • Conduct mental health assessments and risk assessments, and develop and implement care plans
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to mental health support
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised postgraduate EMHP training course
  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families, and other agencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and protocols
