  • Assist with the transport of children, including those with mobility problems or severe/moderate learning difficulties, to and from school or other authorized locations.
  • Assist children, including those with mobility problems or severe/moderate learning difficulties, to Education Authority and alight the bus.
  • Operate tail lifts and ramps on vehicles as required, ensuring wheelchairs are properly clamped down and secured, and harnesses are worn at all times when in transit.
  • Meet the physical and behavioral needs of pupils while on the vehicle and attend to children who may have specific medical conditions.
  • Provide minor first-aid assistance and ensure injured children receive medical attention as quickly as possible.
  • Act as a liaison between the school and parents.
  • Advise relief drivers about route and familiarize them with pupils\u2019 needs.
  • Work on summer schemes arranged by schools.
  • Comply with relevant provisions in the Education Authority\u2019s official booklet of \u201cInstructions to School Bus Escorts\u201d.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work (NI) order 1978, Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments, and Regulations, and other legal requirements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
