Job Title: Public Health Specialist

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are seeking a dynamic and innovative Public Health Specialist to lead on Health Protection. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting residents from health hazards arising from infectious disease and the environment. This includes the impacts of poor air quality and climate change.

The role will involve working closely with the Public Health team to develop and implement strategies to improve population health. The successful candidate will have strong skills and experience in leading on complex Public Health issues, as well as a positive attitude and the ability to cope with multiple and changing demands.

The Public Health team is part of an excellent partnership offering better services across the London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth. The team is embedded across all council departments and serves over half a million residents. We have an excellent track record of developing our public health staff, and many have gone on to take more senior roles in future careers.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Public Health and provide a public health lead on all health protection work. This will include infection prevention and control, national immunisation and screening programmes, inclusion health, air quality, climate change, and sustainability. The post will also provide line management support to a team of staff, linking with the wider Public Health Team and other council directorates as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
