Domestic Abuse Caseworker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Caseworker to join our Northern PIC team in Portsmouth. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to victims of domestic abuse, helping them navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system and access essential services to keep them and their families safe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individual safety plans to meet clients' needs, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Provide advocacy, emotional, and practical support to victims, including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health, and finance.
- Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting victims, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- Manage a complex caseload, prioritizing work effectively and utilizing strong crisis management skills to navigate challenging situations.
Requirements:
- Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its impact, with knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and advisory skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of agencies and individuals.
- Experience working within a multi-agency and legislative framework, with a focus on victim-centered support.
- Ability to use various IT applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Case Management systems.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle, with regular travel required.
