Role Summary

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Physical Education (PE) teacher to join our team at a special needs primary school in Harrow. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored physical education sessions for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is based in Harrow, where we are looking for a Physical Education teacher with resilience, dedication, and a passion for supporting pupils with special needs. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting the physical development and well-being of pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver differentiated PE lessons suited to the needs of ASD and PMLD pupils, ensuring activities are engaging and inclusive.
  • Adapt physical activities to meet the diverse physical and cognitive abilities of the pupils.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to pupils with ASD and PMLD, fostering positive engagement.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with pupils with special educational needs. A strong understanding of child development and behaviour management principles is essential.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of student need. A salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum is available for this role, depending on experience.
