About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to join our team as an Assistant Manager - Offsite Services. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and streamlining our home-based pet operations, ensuring that every pet finds the perfect match with their new family as quickly as possible.

You will oversee the smooth running of daily activities, acting as the subject matter expert in practical animal handling and assessment. Your goal will be to prepare pets for adoption as quickly and effectively as possible.

You will work closely with your team to ensure timely pet assessments, behaviour management, and training, while providing full support to foster carers. You will also be responsible for achieving pet-related targets, ensuring your team of Pet Welfare Assistants maintains the highest standards of animal care and adheres to national processes in case management.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative leader who has a strong background in animal welfare and care. You will be a great people manager, bringing finely honed skills from your experience in an animal-related environment, along with expert knowledge of pet welfare and care.

You will lead a team of Pet Welfare Assistants, empowering them through effective management and coaching. With excellent communication skills, you will adapt your approach for different audiences, ensuring your message resonates. You will remain calm and organised, making confident decisions in high-pressure situations.

You will have a strong analytical skills, enabling you to monitor and evaluate effectively, implementing meaningful improvements. You will have a genuine desire to enhance onsite facilities and services, actively engaging your team in the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and streamline home-based pet operations
  • Oversee daily activities and act as subject matter expert in practical animal handling and assessment
  • Prepare pets for adoption as quickly and effectively as possible
  • Work closely with team to ensure timely pet assessments, behaviour management, and training
  • Provide full support to foster carers
  • Achieve pet-related targets and ensure team maintains highest standards of animal care
