Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our services in the development of financial plans, working closely with service managers, budget holders, and clinicians to ensure the delivery of our annual financial plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support services in the development of financial plans, working with service managers, budget holders, and clinicians on both income and expenditure development.
  • To maintain monitoring systems to track delivery of the annual financial plan.
  • To lead on the financial and economic analysis required for business cases, ensuring that the costs, benefits, and income and expenditure of projects are fully understood and clearly disclosed within business cases.
  • To carry out post-implementation reviews once a business case has been approved and implemented to confirm whether the proposal delivered the benefits it promised and to understand any variances between actual results and those anticipated when the business case was approved.
  • To assist in the production of external service agreements and contracts in line with trust policies and to support the development of new service plans.
  • To analyse and interpret relationships between patient activity data and other key performance indicators and the financial performance of respective areas, in order to anticipate trends and identify weaknesses in budgetary control systems and to establish any implications on corporate support services and service funding streams.
  • To lead on the financial support for a number of strategic projects or service developments within the division.

Requirements
  • Post-qualification analytical financial management experience.
  • Successful experience of managing teams, including experience of leading management accounting teams.
  • Experience of producing financial monitoring reports to senior management/directors for large and highly complex organisations.
  • Knowledge and experience of financial systems.
  • Experience of managing and developing financial management teams.
  • NHS financial management experience.
  • Acute hospital financial management experience.
  • Professional qualification in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, ACCA).

  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexible team player, willing to 'roll up sleeves' where necessary.
