About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuing to broaden your technical knowledge and expertise in pensions administration
  • Understanding and implementing complex processes for cases such as divorce, members with large benefits, and tax issues, while ensuring adherence to procedures
  • Carrying out complex calculations and checking those performed by junior colleagues
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in legislation and highlighting necessary changes for client communications, calculations, or practices
  • Showing awareness of special conditions for certain clients and scheme-specific requirements
  • Participating in efficiency drives for clients, identifying improvements, and implementing best practices
  • Getting involved in departmental initiatives and projects that benefit the department
  • Drafting complex non-standard letters and checking those drafted by others
  • Mentoring and training junior colleagues
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of UK DB pensions administration experience
  • Educated to 'A' level, degree level, or equivalent
  • Making good progress towards relevant training courses and subsequent exams to gain the Award in Pensions Essentials (APE) and the Certificate in Pensions Calculations (CPC)
  • Awareness and understanding of the role of relevant external bodies, such as the PPF and tPR
  • Well-organized and thorough, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with fluctuating workloads and the ability to use initiative
  • Able to maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times, with good organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Flexibility in working hours and duties, with a willingness to learn
