London, Greater London, United Kingdom University of Exeter Full time

As a Data Literacy and Training Solutions Specialist at the University of Exeter, you will play a pivotal role in driving a data-informed culture across our institution. Located in Streatham, this is a hybrid role that offers flexible working between home and our campus.

The Enterprise Data Programme aims to implement a new Enterprise Data Service, providing a centralized data capability with clear governance, ownership, and stewardship. This includes expert support for data consumers through increased data analysis and literacy skills, rapid access to university data assets, and new data insights tools and techniques.

In this key position, you will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver training programs that enhance the data skills of our staff and students, ensuring data-driven decision-making across the University.

You will lead the development and deployment of the University's data literacy strategy, which involves developing and championing the strategy, collaborating with Learning & Development and other stakeholders to design and implement data literacy training and support initiatives, and working closely with our Information Governance team to embed data compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements into training materials and data literacy initiatives.

Key responsibilities include guiding the Data Community and empowering Data Owners and Stewards to ensure data quality, governance, and strategic alignment across the University, as well as continuously assessing and enhancing data literacy initiatives.

We offer a substantial annual leave package of 41 days, an exceptional pension scheme, sector-leading policies around maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave, and flexible working options to support work-life balance. You will also have access to numerous discount schemes, on-campus fitness centers, and sustainable travel incentives, as well as opportunities to develop your expertise and access cutting-edge technologies.

To succeed in this role, you will require robust understanding of data literacy principles, data governance, data quality, and enterprise-level data management, as well as strategic thinking and implementation skills. Experience in designing and delivering data-focused training and initiatives is essential, along with the ability to improve data skills across diverse professional groups.

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to join our team and contribute to the success of the Enterprise Data Programme.
