About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Physician to join our team in Acute Medicine. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our acute care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to acute medical patients, focusing on comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.
  • Lead and manage the acute medical unit, fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
  • Engage with patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and shared decision-making.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to enhance patient safety and quality of care.
  • Mentor and train junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of acute medicine.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency care and guidance as needed.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Applicant's knowledge is up to date and fit to practise safely.
  • Meets professional health requirements (in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice).
  • ALL sections of application form FULLY completed.
  • Appropriate to the holding of a Consultant in acute medicine.
  • Entry on the Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of interview), CESR or European Community Rights.
