About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Mindful Chef. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring we continue to deliver the highest standards and accreditations from the best in class produce supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers of fresh ingredients to ensure the best possible prices and quality.
  • Work closely with our Technical, Operations, Kitchen, and Brand teams to source the best possible ingredients at the best price.
  • Drive gross margin improvements and significant economies of scale in overhead cost lines, weighing up cost, quality, brand, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with our COO, Legal, and Technical teams to ensure strong risk management procedures are in place.

Requirements

  • Deep experience of category buying, preferably in fresh produce buying.
  • Commercially minded, capable of delivering results with quality.
  • Research skills to deeply understand and map supply chains to interrogate cost structures and quality.
  • Customer-oriented, with a healthy obsession with quality for the end customer.
  • Team-player, with collaboration skills supported by emotional intelligence.
  • Good working understanding of food safety regulations.
