About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Leading Commissioning Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead test and commissioning activities, ensuring safe plant operation and compliance with regulations.
  • Deputise for the Commissioning Project Leader, supervising personnel and overseeing work.
  • Responsible for self-development, attending mandatory training and maintaining awareness of plant state.
  • Cary out routine work with limited supervision, understanding safety consequences in high-risk environments.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken safely and compliantly.
  • Instruct and mentor team members, sharing knowledge and competency.
  • Responsible for research, review and feedback of documentation to the required standard.
  • Represent the company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements.
  • Deliver assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures and legislation.

Requirements

  • Experience in commissioning or maintaining mechanical systems in a regulated industry.
  • Ability to work to high levels of detail, recording and reviewing results.
  • Knowledge of using test equipment and activities required for specific tests.
  • Understanding of safety controls and procedures in high-risk environments.
  • Experience working with high-pressure systems.
  • Ability to understand complex mechanical systems.
  • Awareness of nuclear site/authorisation conditions.
