The Opportunity

Apex Resourcing Solutions Ltd is partnering with a leading Building Services Consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their design team.

The consultancy offers a range of services including surveys, feasibility studies, report and advisory work, design, building modelling and thermal simulation, construction monitoring and supervision, project management, energy advice, BREEAM assessments, and expert witness services.

Their experience encompasses various project types, including commercial, leisure, retail, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, industrial, scientific, technology, historic, and law & order projects.

The Position

As the Senior Electrical Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working in coordination with the design team, internal and external, to provide excellent client care and reporting throughout the project life cycle.
  • Attending meetings and site surveys as required, and preparing reports.
  • Demonstrating technical and report writing skills, and dealing with day-to-day queries from site and reporting to the client.
  • Carrying out condition surveys and feasibility studies, and producing designs, calculations, room data sheets, equipment schedules, and specifications.
  • Promoting sustainability and energy efficiency within designs and recommendations.
  • Assisting with the supervision and mentoring of junior engineers, and providing technical support to others.
  • Assisting in the preparation of fee bids for new and repeat business enquiries.
The Person

We are seeking an ideal candidate with:

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as building services or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Background in Electrical Engineering or Building Services design environment.
  • Previous experience working in an M&E and/or multi-disciplinary consultancy.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Design experience using Amtech IESVE, Auto Cad, and/or 3D Revit software packages.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly in MS Excel.
  • Familiarity with CIBSE Guides, IEE Regulations, and CDM Regulations.
