Broadband Installation Engineer Job Description

At Airband, we're seeking a skilled Broadband Installation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality fibre and wireless installations to our customers in rural communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install fibre and wireless services from Airband's main network to customers' premises, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to safety standards.
  • Set up and configure routers, modems, and other networking hardware and software to provide seamless full fibre and wireless connectivity.
  • Perform thorough testing services to confirm functionality and signal strength.
  • Deliver all installations in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness.
  • Maintain own stock levels and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Complete fibre and wireless install surveys using IT equipment provided.
  • Use of Fibre Cloud, Weezie, and third-party network architecture software to provide detailed install plans.
  • Submission of defected infrastructure using provided software/apps.
  • Use of business systems including PIA, Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, PeopleHR, Health & Safety Apps, SICON.
  • Use of a wide range of hand and power tools to aid in the installation of customer fibre and wireless services.
  • Use of a hoist to survey or install when needed.
  • Out of Hours (OOH) on-call work may be required on a rota basis.
  • Liaising with third parties including landowners, utilities, build contractors, landlords, and customers.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical background in engineering and telecommunications.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Natural problem solver, adaptable, flexible, and capable of managing time effectively.
  • Proactive approach to learning and collaboration.

Please note that you are required to have the right to work in the UK and we request satisfactory references as part of our recruitment process. A DBS check is required for a number of our roles, particularly those that are customer-facing including Broadband Installation Engineers. Also, a driving licence is required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
