Financial Analyst Job Description

Candid Recruitment is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our client's team in Southend on Sea, Essex. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in assisting the company's growth by analyzing existing metrics, identifying trends, and providing insightful information to the board for decision-making purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce weekly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to track the company's progress
  • Review commercial performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain budget models with key drivers to inform business decisions
  • Update cost per acquisition allowable to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Monitor key trends in policy behavior and communicate observations to the team
  • Analyze claims data to understand trends and drivers that affect claims ratios
  • Forecast expected performance based on previous data and extrapolation
  • Improve systems and processes to obtain relevant information
  • Perform various reconciliations, including marketing costs, customer base movements, and premiums
Requirements:
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Presentation skills to communicate complex financial information to the board
  • Ability to work with urgency and dedication to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional accounting qualifications, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CA
