Research Opportunity in Chemical Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our research group at the University of Cambridge. Our team is focused on understanding the fundamental mechanisms of genome function, with a particular emphasis on the role of nucleic acid chemistry and molecular biology.

Research Areas
  • Investigation of G-quadruplex structures and their role in transcription, translation, and other biological processes
  • Development of techniques to map small molecule binding to DNA and RNA, and identification of associated proteins
  • Elucidation of base modifications in nucleic acids and their effects on DNA structure, recognition, and function
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (chemical or biological discipline)
  • Strong background in organic chemistry and/or chemical biology
  • Good knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry and/or molecular biology methods
  • Motivation, creativity, and intellectual independence
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
What We Offer
  • 4-year PhD studentship with a maintenance grant and tuition fees at the UK rate
  • Opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary research environment with access to cutting-edge technologies
  • Collaborative interactions with the group's laboratory at the CRUK Cambridge Institute
How to Apply

Applicants must submit their application, including a CV, cover letter, and academic transcripts, to the University of Cambridge. We welcome applications from all sections of society and are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
