Smithers MSE Limited is a leading provider of technical and consulting services to businesses throughout the packaging and paper supply chains.
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Distribution Testing department, where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a well-established and successful team.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out multiple physical test programmes and providing high-quality data on time. You will also be involved in the inspection of products for damage and the use of Excel and Word to generate test documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out physical test programmes and providing high-quality data on time.
- Inspection of products for damage.
- Use of Excel and Word to generate test documentation.
- Contributing towards the efficient organisation of equipment and resources.
Requirements
- Strong team player with a methodical approach and the ability to plan, organise and manage your own workload.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate – particularly in Excel and Word.
- Aptitude towards science and testing and enjoyment of a mixture of desk and laboratory-based work.
- Minimum of A-level/BTEC HNC in a scientific/engineering subject, or a good technical/quality control/engineering background.
