Maintenance Engineer Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineer will work within the mill engineering team to ensure the efficient operation of equipment and machinery at the Ashbourne feed mill. This role involves implementing and maintaining a maintenance plan, reducing production downtime, and providing support to production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to minimize production downtime.
  • Provide technical support to production teams on the PPM system.
  • Maintain a breakdown call-out plan to minimize production downtime.
  • Create regular reports on maintenance status and engineering performance.
  • Prioritize and complete engineering requests.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and insurance requirements for pressure systems and lifting equipment.
  • Assist in purchasing and stock control of site maintenance requirements.
  • Obtain quotations for plant improvements and capital plans.
  • Maintain the company permit-to-work system.
  • Ensure all work complies with company health and safety policy.
  • Maintain the engineering workshop and stores.
  • Monitor and control environmental impact.
  • Possess electrical qualifications (17th edition) and experience with PLCs and inverters.
  • Experience with PPM systems and mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience working in high-speed production facilities.
  • IOSH qualification (desirable).
