The Role
We are seeking an experienced Addictions Counsellor to join our team as a Substance Use Specialist Therapist. The successful candidate will work with adults in a residential setting, delivering assessments, group sessions, and one-to-one therapy to those admitted to the service.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of new residents to identify their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, focusing on relapse prevention, trauma, and substance use management.
- Provide one-to-one interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and person-centered care.
- Work closely with the Supported Housing team to ensure residents' safety, security, and tenancy maintenance.
- Liaise with external agencies to provide wrap-around support and enable residents to achieve social integration and personal development.
- Assist residents in understanding medication prescribed for them and monitor compliance with treatment regimes.
- Deliver psychoeducation sessions to raise awareness about substances and their effects.
Salary Information
The salary for this role is approximately £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
