About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Shift Leader to join our team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring that customers receive excellent service and that the store is running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the store team to deliver an easy and fuss-free shopping experience for customers
  • Support colleagues in their daily tasks and provide guidance and feedback as needed
  • Open and close the store, ensuring that all tasks are completed and that the store is secure
  • Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
  • Maintain a clean and tidy store environment, ensuring that all areas are well-presented
  • Support managers in coordinating seasonal, community, and charity events
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team atmosphere, promoting a culture of respect and open communication
  • Provide excellent customer service, listening to customers and responding to their needs
  • Stay up-to-date with store performance and look for ways to improve and simplify operations
  • Coordinate store improvements and remove any obstacles that may be hindering great service
  • Follow health and safety routines and procedures, ensuring that colleagues do the same
  • Recognize and celebrate colleagues who are providing great service

Requirements

  • Be a great role model, providing thoughtful customer service that meets every customer's needs
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive team atmosphere
  • Be a clear communicator, comfortable using various methods to keep the team informed and up-to-date
  • Be comfortable taking the lead and overseeing the store in the absence of a manager
  • Be a good decision-maker, flexible in thinking and comfortable handling change to ensure everything is right for customers and colleagues
  • Be motivating, inspiring the team to deliver beyond expectations
  • Be curious, always looking for ideas and opportunities to serve customers, communities, and the planet better every day
