Job Title: Part-Time Professor of Hospitality and Horticulture

At Durham College, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Faculty of Hospitality and Horticultural Science as a part-time professor. The successful candidate will teach a range of courses in Horticulture Technician, Food and Farming, Hospitality, Special Events, Tourism – Destination Marketing, and Culinary Management programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum that aligns with industry standards and student learning outcomes.
  • Utilize educational technologies to support student learning and manage grades.
  • Engage students in the learning process and create a positive learning environment.
  • Work effectively with students, faculty, and external stakeholders to achieve program goals.
Requirements:
  • A relevant degree combined with industry credentials (Masters is recommended).
  • A minimum of five years of recent (within the past three years) and relevant work experience.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level with a demonstrated understanding and application of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and current assessment methodologies.
  • Experience participating in industry-led or community-based applied research is an asset.
