This is a permanent, part-time position with the possibility of becoming a full-time role for one individual or split between two people.
The salary range for this position is £24,790 - £25,584 per annum.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain adherence to school policies and procedures while supporting the educational institution's mission and values.
- Complete necessary training to excel in the role.
- Open and close the school for evening and occasional weekend use as scheduled by the Head Teacher/Deputy Headteacher/Business Manager.
- E nsure the overall security of the premises, securing windows and doors, and operating intruder alarm systems efficiently.
- Act as the primary Key Holder and serve as the first point of contact in case of an emergency.
- Perform regular compliance checks, including fire alarm, legionella, and emergency lighting tests, keeping accurate records.
- Undertake minor repairs and temporary fixes as needed.
- Carry out basic DIY tasks such as assembling flat-pack furniture and installing shelving.
- Optimize the heating and hot water systems for efficient operation.
- Notify the office about required sanitary and janitorial supplies.
- Execute emergency procedures in response to fires, floods, break-ins, accidents, or significant damage.
- A requirement for experience in building security and alarm setting is essential.
- Familiarity with building maintenance and repair is also necessary.
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn are expected.
- Ability to work flexible shifts with set hours.
An enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
Registration with the Education Workforce Council is a statutory requirement.
